The Old bens at present are doing extremely well in the Division 3 Cicket Tournament for the year 2008/2009. we won the first 3 matches convincingly and the fourth was a washout. In the 1st game against Somerset CC the Bens piled up 304 runs with contributions from Chanaka Wijewardene & Suren Silva scoring 63 runs each & Waruna Fenando 50. Somerset were bowled out for 208 in the allotted 50 overs. Suren Silva did well with the ball as well by taking 3 for 50, Rajeev Amal & Pradep Dassanayake took 2 wickets each. Old Bens won by 93 runs.

In the 2nd match against Lankan CC the Bens scored 306/6 in the allotted 50 overs. Main scorers were Roy Saram who top scored with 91 & Rajeev Amal 74 & Rally Tissera 52 n.o. & Bernard Karunaratnne with a brisk 42 n.o., Lankan CC managed to get 189  in 33.2 overs.Pradeep Dassanayke 3/26,  Shannon Patterson 3/30 were the the wicket takers.

Old Bens beat Dehiwela CC by 7 wkts. Dehiwela CC batting first were dismissed for 70 runs in 22 overs. Chanka Wijewardene 4/12 & Pradeep Dassanayake 2/05

OldBens Vs  Memons SC the match was abonded due to  Rain.

Old Bens batting first scored 260in the allotted 50 overs. Waruna Fernando top scored wityh 78 runs & Rajeev Amal scored 43 runs, The Memons could not batting due to heavy rain & the umpires called off the match at 4.oo pm.
 

Old Bens topped the group & will go in to the second stage of the tournament in the coming weeks.
